Creative Media Teacher (English, Photography, IT)
Location: BS13

About the School:
An independent SEN school offering tailored education for students aged 11-16 (Years 7-11) with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and educational trauma. Our school is small, with a close-knit community that focuses on building trust and individual success for each child. Behavioural issues are not prevalent here, thanks to the nurturing environment and highly collaborative staff. Each child is supported by a dedicated team, working closely to meet their specific educational and emotional needs. The school thrives on creativity, compassion, and commitment, providing a space where every child can learn and grow.

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Creative Media Teacher to teach a blend of English, Photography, and IT to students across Years 7-11. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the futures of young people through a holistic, engaging curriculum that combines these subjects under the umbrella of Creative Media.

What is Creative Media?
Creative Media is more than just a subject; it is a way for students to express themselves, develop essential communication skills, and gain practical experience in a digital world. By integrating English, Photography, and IT, you will help students explore storytelling, digital literacy, critical thinking, and technical creativity. These skills are crucial for students to thrive, not only academically but also in their everyday lives and future careers.

Students need Creative Media because it provides a flexible, engaging way to help them overcome barriers to learning, boosts their self-confidence, and gives them the tools to navigate a world driven by digital technology and visual communication.

What We’re Looking For:
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher (or have an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification) with the ability and confidence to teach English, Photography, and IT as part of our Creative Media curriculum. You will:

  • Have experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, and educational trauma.
  • Be innovative in your teaching approach, using practical and creative methods to engage students.
  • Understand the importance of integrating digital skills, creativity, and communication into lessons to help students succeed both inside and outside of school.
  • Be able to inspire students, helping them understand the real-world relevance of Creative Media, from enhancing their communication skills to opening doors to future job opportunities in digital, creative, and technical industries.
  • Work closely with our highly supportive, collaborative team to provide individualized support and tailored learning experiences for each student.

If you are a creative, compassionate teacher who believes in the transformative power of education, we would love to hear from you. Join us in making a real difference in the lives of our students.
